National 3PL Logistics Provider
Real-time supply chain visibility platform for a 3PL provider handling 15,000 shipments daily.
All case studiesA national third-party logistics (3PL) provider handling 15,000 shipments daily across road, rail, and air freight engaged Cydez Technologies to build a real-time supply chain visibility platform. The company operated 12 warehouses, managed a fleet of 800 vehicles, and served 350+ enterprise clients — but had no unified visibility into shipment status across transport modes.
Customer service teams spent 40% of their time answering "where is my shipment?" calls by phoning drivers and warehouse staff. SLA compliance monitoring was done retrospectively through monthly Excel reports — by which time contract penalties had already been incurred. Enterprise clients received end-of-day shipment status updates via email and frequently escalated for real-time information that the operations team could not provide.
Cydez built a real-time visibility platform on OCI, integrating Oracle SCM Cloud with MuleSoft-connected GPS tracking devices on vehicles, warehouse management systems at all 12 facilities, and carrier partner APIs for rail and air freight. A customer-facing tracking portal provided real-time shipment status with ML-powered predictive ETA. An internal control tower dashboard gave operations managers a unified view across all modes with proactive SLA breach alerting. Within the first year, customer service call volume for status enquiries dropped by 85%.
- Real-time visibility across road, rail, and air
- Oracle SCM Cloud and MuleSoft integration
- GPS tracking for 800-vehicle fleet
- Customer-facing tracking portal with predictive ETA
- Control tower dashboard for operations
- Proactive SLA breach alerting
A national third-party logistics provider handling 15,000 shipments daily across road, rail, and air had no unified visibility into shipment status. Customer service teams relied on phone calls to drivers and warehouse staff to provide tracking updates. SLA compliance monitoring was manual, and clients received shipment status reports only via end-of-day email — leading to escalations and contract penalties.
Cydez built a real-time supply chain visibility platform on OCI, integrating Oracle SCM Cloud with MuleSoft-connected GPS tracking devices, warehouse management systems, and carrier APIs. A customer-facing tracking portal provided real-time shipment status with predictive ETA. Automated SLA monitoring flagged at-risk shipments before breaches occurred, and a control tower dashboard gave operations managers a unified view across all modes of transport.

How we delivered this project
Discovery
Mapped the shipment lifecycle across all 3 transport modes. Audited GPS device compatibility across the 800-vehicle fleet. Documented WMS APIs at 12 warehouses. Analysed 12 months of SLA breach data and customer escalation patterns. Interviewed 20 enterprise clients on visibility expectations.
Design
Designed the OCI platform architecture with real-time event streaming. Created the MuleSoft integration architecture for GPS, WMS, and carrier APIs. Designed the predictive ETA model using historical transit time data and traffic patterns. Created the customer portal and control tower dashboard UX.
Development
Built the OCI event streaming platform for real-time shipment status updates. Developed MuleSoft integration flows for 800 GPS devices, 12 WMS instances, and 5 carrier APIs. Built the customer tracking portal and internal control tower dashboard on React. Trained the predictive ETA model on 2 years of transit data.
Launch
Deployed in 3 phases: GPS integration (4 weeks), WMS integration (4 weeks), and customer portal launch (4 weeks). Onboarded 350 enterprise clients on the tracking portal. Trained 60 operations staff on the control tower. Achieved 85% reduction in status enquiry calls within 6 months.
What we built
Real-Time Tracking
GPS-based vehicle tracking with 30-second update frequency. Multi-modal visibility across road, rail, and air with unified timeline view. Geofence alerts for warehouse entry/exit and delivery zone arrival.
Predictive ETA
ML model predicting delivery time with 92% accuracy using historical transit data, real-time traffic, weather conditions, and driver performance patterns. Dynamic ETA updates pushed to customers automatically.
Customer Tracking Portal
Self-service portal for enterprise clients with real-time shipment tracking, proof-of-delivery access, and SLA performance dashboards. API available for integration into client systems.
Control Tower Dashboard
Unified operations view across all transport modes showing active shipments, at-risk deliveries, vehicle utilisation, and warehouse throughput. Exception-based workflow for proactive intervention.
SLA Monitoring
Proactive SLA breach detection alerting operations managers when shipments are at risk of missing delivery windows. Automated escalation workflows with corrective action tracking.
Analytics & Reporting
Historical performance analytics covering transit times, SLA compliance, vehicle utilisation, and lane-level cost analysis. Monthly executive reports auto-generated for client review meetings.

Measurable outcomes
- 85% reduction in customer service calls for shipment status enquiries
- SLA breach rate reduced from 12% to 3% through proactive alerting
- Predictive ETA accuracy of 92% across all transport modes
- Client retention improved by 18% in the first year
