Telemedicine Health Startup
Telemedicine platform serving 100,000 patients across tier-2 and tier-3 India.
All case studiesA health-tech startup with a mission to bring specialist consultations to underserved tier-2 and tier-3 Indian cities engaged Cydez Technologies to build a full-stack telemedicine platform. The startup's founding team included experienced physicians who had observed firsthand that patients in smaller cities routinely travelled 200-400 km to metro hospitals for specialist consultations — often for conditions that could be effectively managed via video consultation.
The platform needed to support HD video consultations on low-bandwidth mobile connections (common in target geographies), generate digital prescriptions compliant with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020 issued by the Board of Governors (Medical Council of India), and integrate with local diagnostic laboratories for test ordering and report delivery. The startup also needed an AI triage chatbot to route patients to the appropriate specialist, reducing wait times and improving matching accuracy.
Cydez built the platform with a Flutter patient app, React doctor dashboard, and WebRTC-based video consultation engine with adaptive quality that maintained consultation quality on connections as low as 2 Mbps. Integration with 200+ diagnostic labs across target cities enabled patients to book tests and receive reports within the app. The AI triage chatbot, built on a medical knowledge graph and fine-tuned language model, achieved 87% accuracy in specialist routing. Within 12 months, the platform served 100,000 registered patients across 45 cities.
- Flutter patient app with video consultation
- React doctor dashboard and EMR
- WebRTC video engine optimised for low bandwidth
- AI triage chatbot for specialist routing
- Integration with 200+ diagnostic labs
- Telemedicine Practice Guidelines compliance
A health-tech startup aimed to bring specialist consultations to patients in tier-2 and tier-3 Indian cities where access to specialists was limited. The platform needed to support HD video consultations on low-bandwidth connections, digital prescriptions compliant with Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020, and integration with local diagnostic labs for test ordering and report delivery.
Cydez built a full-stack telemedicine platform with a Flutter patient app, React doctor dashboard, and WebRTC-based video consultation engine optimised for low-bandwidth Indian mobile networks. Digital prescriptions were generated with e-signature compliance. Integration with 200+ diagnostic labs enabled patients to book tests and receive reports within the app. An AI triage chatbot routed patients to the appropriate specialist.

How we delivered this project
Discovery
Conducted field research in 8 tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Interviewed 200 patients and 50 specialists on telemedicine expectations. Tested mobile network conditions across target geographies. Documented Telemedicine Practice Guidelines compliance requirements with the medical advisory board.
Design
Designed the Flutter app UX for low-digital-literacy users with large touch targets, vernacular language support, and voice-assisted navigation. Created the doctor dashboard with EMR integration. Designed the WebRTC architecture for adaptive quality on low-bandwidth connections. Specified the AI triage chatbot conversation flows.
Development
Built the Flutter patient app and React doctor dashboard. Developed the WebRTC video engine with adaptive bitrate, echo cancellation, and bandwidth-aware quality switching. Built the AI triage chatbot on a medical knowledge graph. Integrated 200+ diagnostic labs via REST APIs. Implemented digital prescription generation with e-signature.
Launch
Launched in 10 cities with 50 onboarded specialists. Achieved 100,000 registrations within 12 months through partnerships with local pharmacies and diagnostic centres. Expanded to 45 cities by end of Year 1. Maintained 4.7-star Google Play rating with 25K+ reviews.
What we built
Low-Bandwidth Video Consultation
WebRTC engine with adaptive quality maintaining usable video on connections as low as 2 Mbps. Automatic fallback to audio-only with image sharing when bandwidth drops below threshold.
AI Triage Chatbot
Conversational chatbot assessing symptoms and routing patients to the appropriate specialist with 87% accuracy. Medical knowledge graph covering 500+ conditions across 25 specialties.
Digital Prescriptions
Compliant with Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020. Doctor e-signature, medication database with dosage suggestions, drug interaction checks, and prescription history for follow-up consultations.
Lab Integration
Integration with 200+ diagnostic labs across 45 cities. Patients book tests from within the app, receive home collection scheduling, and access digital reports linked to their medical record.
Patient Medical Record
Longitudinal patient health record aggregating consultation notes, prescriptions, lab reports, and imaging across all consultations. Shareable health summary for in-person hospital visits.
Doctor Dashboard
Appointment queue management, patient history view, prescription writing tool, and revenue analytics. Availability calendar with slot management and fee configuration.

Measurable outcomes
- 100,000 patients registered within 12 months of launch
- 4.7-star rating on Google Play with 25K+ reviews
- Average consultation wait time of 8 minutes vs. 45-minute industry average
- 70% of consultations completed on mobile data connections under 5 Mbps
